Project Globaltech-1

The mobile offshore application barge (MOAB) Global Tech 1 is a self-floating and self-installing barge on which a high-voltage substation is built. Keppel Verolme for Global Tech 1 Offshore Wind GmbH Croon’s client Keppel Verolme and its consortium partner Alstom (AREVA Energietechnik GmbH) built Global Tech 1 for a new offshore wind farm in the German Exclusive Economic Zone in the North Sea. A reduction of 1 million tons of CO2 emissions per year will be achieved with this wind farm.

Croon is responsible for the complete electrical low-voltage system including
auxiliary systems. Croon managed, engineered, integrated, installed
and commissioned the following systems:

  •  Low-voltage system, switchgear and distribution panels
  •  Telephone, general alarm and public address system
  •  Alarm, monitoring and control system
  •  Control desks
  •  Complete cabling
