Project Bavenit

The Bavenit upgrade project was necessary to increase the capabilities of the vessel for deep water survey and research. Croon Marine & Offshore was involved in upgrading the bow thruster and designing and manufacturing the seabed electrical installation, among other things.

Our client Fugro is a leading service provider for the collection and interpretation of data relating to the earth’s surface and sub-surface and for associated services and advice in support of infrastructure development on land, along the coast and on the seabed. Fugro-Geoteam has been acquiring seismic data for over 30 years and in that time has provided high quality data acquisition and processing services to the oil industry as well as providing Fugro Multi Client Services with large 2D and 3D databases covering many different regions of the globe.

Croon managed, engineered, integrated, installed and commissioned the
following systems:

  • • Cable installation,
  • • Servicing, cleaning and tightening all connections in MSB 660V, MSB
  • 380V/220V, emergency switchboard and the 24V boards.
  • • Delivery and replacement of biased differential relays.
  • • Overhaul of 50 pc El motors of different sizes and types.
  • • Docking survey conform RMRS;
  • • Navigation lights,
  • • Hydraulic winch controllers
  • • Mud mixers
  • • Aqua master installation
